About Us

An Independent Force for Global Sustainable Development

Global Sustainable Development Foundation (GSDF) is an independent, neutral, non-religious, non-partisan and non-profit international organization working within the United Nations sustainable development system.

Why GSDF Was Founded

In 2015, all 193 UN Member States adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, establishing 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across the five dimensions of People, Prosperity, Planet, Peace and Partnership — a unified roadmap for ending poverty, inequality, ecological degradation and public-health crises.

As the 2030 deadline approaches, global progress faces mounting headwinds: frequent climate disasters, a sluggish world economy, continuing regional conflicts and a widening development gap. Many SDG indicators are advancing far more slowly than planned.

Under the spirit of Article 71 of the Charter of the United Nations and ECOSOC Resolution 1996/31, non-governmental organizations are a key third force in global sustainable governance — linking governments, business, academia and civil society across borders. GSDF was founded in this context as an independent, neutral civil-society institution embedded in the UN sustainable development system.

Four Core Positions on the Global Stage

Founded amid the decisive years of the 2030 Agenda, GSDF works as an independent civil-society force within the United Nations sustainable development system — filling implementation gaps that governments and intergovernmental mechanisms alone cannot cover.

Firm Practitioner of the UN 2030 Agenda

We take the 17 Sustainable Development Goals as the core guide for all our programmes, building a full chain from policy research and international advocacy to forum dialogue, field projects and results review, with region-specific approaches for developed and developing countries alike.

Neutral Convener of Multilateral Cooperation

As a third-party organization free of government or corporate affiliation, we create equal dialogue platforms that give developing-country NGOs, local communities and youth organizations a voice in climate, green trade, poverty reduction and biodiversity agendas.

Professional Driver of Sustainable Development

Our think-tank network of former officials, Nobel laureates, researchers and green-industry leaders delivers standards, white papers, applied research and end-to-end advisory services across policy, industry, public welfare, urban and rural tracks.

Guardian of Shared Human Well-Being

Guided by the principle of leaving no one behind, we focus on least-developed rural communities, women, youth, persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples and small-island residents, and channel resources and opportunities toward the underserved.

Our Vision

A new pattern of global sustainable development where everyone is equal, all life coexists and prosperity endures — where development outcomes reach everyone regardless of country, ethnicity, gender or class, and where humanity, society and nature thrive in harmony for generations to come.

Human Rights First

All work follows the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN sustainable development human-rights framework, with zero tolerance for discrimination.
